My first sailing trip went unexpectedly well in perfect weather. Blue sky, bright stars, moon ... words fail to describe the beauty of nature that God has given us. The rain, wind and tide post significant impact on the sailing. We intend to head towards Omonville, a fishing village in Frence, then Alderney, one of the Channel Islands. However the wind took us to the East and to Cherbourg. When you have to depend so much on mother nature, you suddenly realise that what you want is not what you get. If you trust God giving us the best, you're happy to go anywhere.
I wonder how it will become if there is stronger tide or wave? When will be my second sailing trip??

Back to Cambridge again and had a great week, very fortunate to be able to get Trintiy May Ball ticket. Can't believe after all these years and I'm still going to May Ball, esp. exciting for Irene. Also extremely excited to meet my favourite and most admired Chinese novelist, Prof. Louis Cha (best known as Jin Yong) who received his honourary doctorate degree from Cambridge University on 22 June 2005. I was most happy to be able to speak to him and obtained his autograph on one of his best known novels.

May Ball is a very fun and enjoyable event in Cambridge and it is actually in June. We went to Trinity College (where I was a student in the 1990s) May Ball on 20 June 2005. It was really fun, it started at 9pm and packed entertainment and food till 5:45am when the survivors photo was taken.

Day trip to Shrewsbury. Route:1. Market Street, The Square where the Tourist Information Office located; 2. St Alkmunds Place and Church. Next to the church, there is a very cute restaurant and I wish I could have lunch there; 3. St Marys Church; 4. Shrewsbury Castle Military items are displayed inside the castle; 5. Library, Darwin memorial statue. The statue was erected by townsfolk in 1894; 6. The Abbey Crossing the English Bridge, we arrived the Abbey Foregate. English Bridge connects this town to England in the east and the Welsh Bridge connects to Wales in the west; 7. The Peach Tree for afternoon tea, next to the Abbey; 8. St Chads Church; 9. Quarry Park. The colourful flowers in the park brightened our day. Thanks for the instruction given by the reception at St Chads Church; 10. Shrewsbury Museum
There are more independent shops in Shrewsbury than other towns. It is enjoyable to walk in this small town, best to combine a tour to Ironbridge.

Had a very relax visit to London. Been to London many times, this is not meant to be a sight-seeing trip. The highlight of this trip is the lunch at the OXO Tower.

Global Cafe of Warwick, weekend away to Mid Wales. Cefn Lea is one of the Christian conference venues in Britain, located in the peaceful valley surrounded by hills. http://www.cefnlea.co.uk/Powis Castle and Garden is near the town, Welshpool. Since 1952, it has been maintained by the National Trust and is well preserved. The castle dates back to the 12th century; built on the hill by Welsh Princes near the border with England.
Although it's a small castle, the interior is interesting and beautiful. Some interesting items from India can be found in the Clive room. A walk in the garden is surely relaxing on a sunny day and it may be good to take a nap on the grass field! There is cafe and shop near the entrance of the castle. Time required: 2 - 3 hours.
We had good fun admiring the starry sky, eating a lot food prepared by Rachel and Ruth, watching movie, playing swings/ball games etc, chatting & chatting, thought-provoking discussion on the DVD - Glad you asked. Questions like: Is there a creator in this world? What's your view on the evolution theory? Does these matter to our life?
Sleeping in a youth hostel is sometimes a problem for me. Deprived of sleep, I felt tired on second day, so that I was able to sleep better on the second day and felt really great on the last day. The chalet we stayed is really nice and of good size. I enjoyed staying with schoolmates very much and hope that we can get to know each other more in the Global Cafe or future activities. The only thing I wished I could do is to try Golf!

Birmingham is a big city. It has very good shopping malls around the Bull Ring area. There are also quite a few good restaurants around the convention centre area.

Kenilworth is a very small town and has an old castle that worths a visit. Apart from the castle there isn't much. You should then go to Leamington Spa by bus which is not far from Kenilworth.

Not really travelling around UK, but rather seeing some friends and visited a few museum. Just having a relax time to welcome the year of 2005.
